OpenEngine: Sound System

OpenEngine is a cross platform framework for creating 3D applications. It is a free software initiative started, at the Department of Computer Science at Aarhus University, in order to create a game engine geared towards educational usage. The engine provides a clean base and flexible architecture allowing many possible applications. As the OpenEngine was in need for a soundsystem and a graphic real-time user interface for audio designers, The OpenEngine:SoundSystem plugin was created to extend the engine with a sound system based on OpenAL.

My contributions: Programmer (C++), system architecture for audio implementation


Interface for in-game manipulation of sound sources.


Realtime visualization of sound sources position, direction and fall-off.
